The following are the stated goals of the Soviet Communist Party for
the year 1963. These goals were entered into the Congressional Record
by Congressman Albert Herlong, Jr., a
Florida representative from 1949-1969. I am only listing the most applicable of the 45 stated goals that still could be applied to the
American political panorama in 2008. See if these "concepts" are not strikingly similar to the present day rhetoric of the American radicals. The list is shocking: (The following are direct quotes)
1. Promote
the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten,
demand that it be set up as a one world government with its own
independent armed forces.
2. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic
American institutions, by claiming their
activities violate civil rights.
3. Get
control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism,
and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of
the teachers' associations. Put the
party line in textbooks.
4. Gain control of all student newspapers.
5. Infiltrate the press.Get control of book
review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.
6. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV & motion pictures.
7. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of
free speech and
free press.
8. Break down cultural standards of morality . . .
9. Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as "normal, natural, and healthy."
10. Discredit the
American
Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned, out of step with
modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide
basis.
11. Discredit the
American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
12. Belittle all forms of
American culture . . .
13. Support
any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the
culture - education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental
health clinics, etc.
14. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
15. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions. (Notice the key word: MORE)
16. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the
police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral
problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat.
17. Discredit the
family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and
easy divorce.
18. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the
American tradition; that
students and special interest
groups should rise up and make a "united force" to solve, economic, political, or social problems.
19. Internationalize the Panama Canal. (Thank you Jimmy Carter!)
20. Repeal
the Connally Reservation so the US can not prevent the World Court from
seizing jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court
jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction
over nations and individuals alike.

Pretty nice list, huh? Twenty of the forty-five. That's damn near half, even in the "new" math!
Is it just me or are we still hearing this nonsense on a daily basis? Don't these 1963 "Communist Goals" sound almost as if they were lifted directly from the playbook of Obama and his minions? Make no mistake - Commie in 1963 or radical American Leftist in 2008 - all the same.
There can be no doubt that the American Left has moved ever closer to full-fledged Communism; they just use different phraseology. Now we hear the word "progressive" in place of Marxist but it's all the same. A dog turd called triple fudge ripple ice cream will still taste like crap, and these brilliant Progressives are nothing more than Marxists and damn near Communists in all but name. Dear God what are we to do?
